    Value for October – Generosity
16 October 2026

Dear Parents / Carers,

Autumn Fayre

The Autumn Fayre last week was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. Also a huge thank you to the PTA, staff and volunteers who spent lots of time and energy setting things up and making the event such a success. There is an update on the raised total later on in the newsletter.

Parents Meetings this week

Thank you to everyone who attended (or will be attending) parents meetings this week. I hope that you all feel that you have had the chance to speak to your child’s class teacher and know more about next steps for your child’s learning. Details about the postponed parents meetings (Daffodil class) will be out next week for parents to book.

Parents in the school building

We have a few instances of parents in the school building, especially at the beginning of the school day. As a large site there are doors open to let children in but parents need to remain outside unless with a member of staff. Adults all need to sign in at the front office please where they can be given a lanyard to do with safeguarding.

Lost Property

We know that lots of your children regularly misplace their belongings and getting to lost property can be tricky. After half term we hope to have a new location in the middle playground which will be far more accessible to you all and not require you to come in through the office. Once it is up and running I will let you know.

ESFA Girls tournament

Mr Davies took a team of nine girls to the ESFA tournament at Sandy Lane, where the team made an excellent start. They won all four of their group-stage matches, finishing with an impressive goal difference of +12!

Unfortunately, football can be a cruel game. In the knockout stages, the girls conceded a last-gasp equaliser with the final kick of the match to make it 1–1, before narrowly losing on penalties.

Despite the disappointment, the girls did the school proud with their performances, teamwork and determination. Most importantly, everyone had a fantastic time!

CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY ONLINE SHOP NOW OPEN!
This week, your children are bringing home order cards showcasing their brilliant holiday artwork (some have done Christmas-themed artwork, some have done other celebrations like Eid and Hanukkah). All items purchased raise money for the school - last year, your Christmas shopping raised over £1,000 for the PTA!

Your order card contains your child's unique order code. Everyone has the same school code (780EEA). Visit the online shop at https://myfundraisinghub.com/welcome and use these codes to access your child's artwork and start shopping.

We strongly recommend taking a photo of your codes, in case your card goes missing. Please also note the difference between the number '1' and the capital letter 'I', as this caused some confusion last year.

The shop will close at MIDDAY (12pm) on Friday 30 October (this is a hard deadline and cannot be extended!) Orders will be sorted at school in November and brought home by your children.

If your child did not bring a sample card home (and definitely completed artwork), please contact Oriana (ori7b@hotmail.com) and/or Cailah (cailahjackson@gmail.com), stating your child’s full name and class. If you lose your codes BEFORE logging for the first time, please email us as soon as possible. If you lose your codes after you’ve created an account, you can recover them via the online shop at: myfundraisinghub.com/ForgotCodes.

Happy shopping!

100 Club Needs More Members!

The 100 Club is our school’s monthly lottery draw. You can join for a full year for just £12 or pay in monthly instalments of £1. Each month you have the chance to win prizes of £25, £15 and £10. The remaining funds are used to buy books for classrooms and the school library, as well as to support other school projects.

For further details, please visit the 100 Club website at: https://dariodarski.github.io/100Club/

You may also scan the QR code below to access the site.

Class Reps

Thank you so much to those of you acting as reps for your class. We are still looking for class reps for Year 4 class Geckos and Y6 Lilac.

This does not have to be an onerous role, but it's really important to help keep parents connected, share important updates and support communication between the class and the school. You can also team up with another parent and be co-class reps if you'd prefer to share the role.

If you are interested or would like to find out more, please let the PTA team know.

Fayre update

A huge thank you for donating so many wonderful books and for buying books at last Saturday's Fayre. What a fantastic selection! Both children and adults will have so many to enjoy. It's amazing that around half of all the books were sold! As in previous years, the remaining books were donated to the hospital this week, where we hope they will bring a little comfort, distraction and happiness to patients, including children, during what can be a very difficult time.

Thank you all so much for your generosity to everyone who came, ran a stall, baked, donated a tombola prize or sold tokens, and to the school staff for their help throughout. We're delighted to say we raised around £6,800 this year!

The money is earmarked to go towards cooling and shade improvements, hopefully more news on this soon.
