Value for November – Peace 06 November 2026
Dear Parents / Carers,
Lost Property
Earlier this week, many of you will have seen that we have a new system with lost property being housed in the middle playground. Items are all there now and can be accessed at the beginning and end of each day. Please help us to keep the area tidy by putting the items back in the correct place when you have looked (and hopefully found) what has been misplaced.
Takeover Day
Next Friday is Takeover Day in school, giving children the opportunity to take on some of the key roles in school and get a flavour for the work that many of the adults do. It is a really worthwhile activity (as well as fun!) giving children a snapshot of what it is like to either deliver a lesson, support other people or any of the other jobs that go on in school.
Lego Club
Many thanks for your donations for Lego club. This has now begun and Year 3 had a great time this week. Running two lunchtimes each week, I will rotate around the year groups making sure that everyone who wants to come along gets the chance.
Windmill Press
Thank you and well done to all our roving reporters and editors who have produced a fantastic edition of the Windmill Press! (sent out separately on Juniper App) It takes hard work and dedication to produce the paper. This edition looks at the new start to the year and changes in the school. It's a great way to find out a bit more about what has been going on. As well as all the children involved, thank you to Mrs Roderick and Miss Brown who have done an amazing job supporting our reporters and sharing the finished product.
Mr A Howe

Make an application to primary school
Parents of school children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 need to apply for an infant or primary school place for September 2027.
Applications can be submitted from 3 November 2026, and the deadline for receipt of completed applications is 15 January 2027. Applications received by this date will be processed for National Offer Day on 16 April 2027.
If your application is received after 15 January, it will be processed later in the year, and you are far less likely to get a place at one of your preferred schools.
Applications need to be made via www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/admissions.
Eco news!
- Eco club is taking part in Cut your Carbon!
We challenge you to cut your carbon over November using the 9 areas on the checklist. Eco club will be collecting results from their classes at the end of the month to calculate how much carbon we have reduced as a school. We would love everyone to take part to get the best possible results!

Windmill PTA AGM
A reminder to join our AGM meeting on Monday 16th November on Zoom, 7.30pm-9:00pm. More info and agenda items available on Classlist.
Easyfundraising
It is a great time of the year to sign up to easyfundraising: a very simple fundraising tool, through which over 8,000 brands donate a small amount to the PTA every time you shop online at no extra cost to you. Retailers like eBay, John Lewis & Partners, Argos, ASOS, Expedia, M&S, Just Eat, Uswitch and many more are part of the scheme, and you can use the app or set up a reminder for whenever you purchase through websites. This really is the simplest way possible to help us out - and you can share the link with friends and family too. Visit: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/windmillschoolpta to find out more and sign up!
