Meet the Windmill Inclusion and Wellbeing Leaders    

Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo)

Mrs Michelle Griffiths

Michelle is responsible for the implementation of the school's SEN strategy, policy, and school offer. She supports teachers, the leadership team, children and their families, and liaises with external agencies when required. Michelle provides advice and guidance to staff on supporting pupils with SEN and works closely with the pastoral team.

Lydia assists Michelle in the day-to-day operation of the school's SEN policy. She supports teachers, children and their families, and works closely with the pastoral team.

Mental Health and Pastoral Lead

Mrs Jackie Aspden

As mental health lead, Jackie oversees the pastoral team and is also one of our assistant heads with a teaching responsibility in Year Two. Jackie works closely with the team to ensure the strategic implementation of the mental health policy. Jackie also liaises with the CAMHS MHST who provide support for children with a range of challenges.

 

Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) - The Glade

Mr Adam Gibbs

The Glade is a nurture room that offers a safe, secure and predictable space to support the mental health and developmental needs of children. This intervention is run by Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), Mr Adam Gibbs. Home School Link Worker (HSLW)

Ms Sally Painter

As part of her home school link role, Sally supports children, parents, and their families, building and maintaining positive relationships between home and school. Sally can support with a range of issues, including attendance, punctuality, bereavements, separation, illness, disabilities or financial struggles.

                                                                                                 Accredited Play Therapist - The Hive

                                                                                                 Mrs Miriam Inall

                                                                                                Miriam offers individual therapeutic support for                                                                                                                        children. She is based in the Hive, which she sets up                                                                                                                as play therapy room for part of the week, providing                                                                                                                a safe, welcoming and confidential space. Miriam                                                                                                                    uses play-based activities and creative arts to help                                                                                                                    children to express and explore difficult emotions                                                                                                                    or experiences. Referrals for play therapy are made                                                                                                                through the pastoral team.
