The children have previously learnt about their own locality, the celebrations of the world and the oceans and the continents, it is now time to go beyond Earth. This term the children will have a topic that centres around the Moon-'Fly me to the Moon.'
In year the children will look closely at the question: Why do people want to fly to the moon? The moon landing will be their topic of study in History. The will look at the way rockets are made in DT and sketching the moon in art. The children will apply their knowledge over going beyond the earth in science.
However, what would happen if NASA was to decide they were no longer sending people to the moon?
This term also includes Windmills Book Fair, World Book Day and Moon Landing Day. We can't wait to go up, up above and beyond!
