Value for October – Generosity 09 October 2026
Dear Parents / Carers,
Autumn Fayre
Thank you to everyone who donated to the tombola for the Autumn Fayre today. The main event is tomorrow between 1pm and 4pm on the back playground with lots of stalls, games, activities and a fantastic raffle. The whole school community is welcome and you do not need to be there for the entire time, just popping in for an hour or so would be great. Could I please ask that wherever possible you walk or cycle to the fayre rather than driving.
Help needed!
We would like to move our lost property to make it more accessible for parents and save you coming into school to look for things. Currently we are exploring a way to store items in the area outside the hall but need some help from someone who may be able to construct a storage area from wood which would then be used to house boxes with the lost property inside. The school can find a way to pay for the materials needed, but if you or anyone you know could help us design and build a structure it would be greatly appreciated. Please email the office (office.2527@windmill.oxon.sch.uk) if you think you can help!
Parents Meetings
Next week there will be parents meetings which will be held online on some days and in person on Wednesday 14th October. To attend, please see the letter sent last week via the app which directs you to the school cloud website and bookings. All appointments are for 10 minutes regardless of whether online or in person. Bookings are open until Midday this coming Sunday 11th October.
One piece of feedback from the parents survey that you filled out was that many people felt that they would like to know more about their child’s next steps and what they need to do in order to move their learning forward. This is something that I have asked teaching staff to ensure that they do during parents meetings next week. If you are unsure that you have that information then please do ask the staff member directly.

ESFA football tournament
On Friday 2nd October, nine boys represented the school at the ESFA tournament. They participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout, and were a real credit to the school.
The team drew two matches, won one and lost one, making it a thoroughly enjoyable and successful experience. It was a fantastic opportunity for the boys to represent the school, compete against other teams and, most importantly, enjoy their football.
SEND Appeal
We are currently looking to build up our resources in school to support some of our SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) pupils.
We would be very grateful for any good-quality toys from the list below that you may no longer need at home and would be happy to donate to school.
In particular, we are looking for:
- Duplo
- Magnetic tiles
- Stickle Bricks
- Magnetic building sticks
- Kinetic sand
- Playmobil
- Puzzles (100–150 pieces)
- Threading activities
- Colouring books (unused)
- Play dinosaurs
- Play animals
- Playdough
- Orchard games
- Dobble
- Clay
- Craft kits (unused)
If you have any of these items at home that you would be happy to donate, please ask your child to bring them into school and pass them to their class teacher (NOT to the office please). The items can then be passed on to the SEND team, who will distribute them across the classes where they are most needed.
Thank you so much for your support.
