January Closure 4/1/21

January Closure

Dear Parents and Carers,

We thought that we were finished with messages for today but in light of this evening’s announcement, I need to contact you all again.
As you may well have heard, primary schools including Windmill will be closed across the country from tomorrow. This means that the vast majority of pupils will not be coming to school and will be moving to remote learning via Seesaw or Google Classroom. Knowing that this may happen we gave teaching staff time to prepare for this today. Class teachers will be in touch via Seesaw or Google Classroom (for Year 6) with more information during the day tomorrow.
The key groups who are exceptions are the parents of Key Workers and vulnerable children. We take this care extremely seriously and do everything we can to provide this as we value Key Workers and all they do for us.
If you have already had an email today, as your child’s class was due to close, offering a Key Worker place then that will be available from tomorrow. Please turn up as outlined in the email you were sent.
If you believe that your child or children should have a Key worker place in school but have not had any communication with school about this then please email: keyworker@windmill.oxon.sch.uk We will need details of all adults in your household and their roles as Key Workers. We cannot offer any more places for tomorrow until we have worked through all emails. Depending on how many requests we receive we may need to apply a selection process to decide which children can be catered for in school. We are proud that so many of our parents are doing so much in the fight against COVID and want to help as many as possible.
If you have not yet been offered a key worker place please do not bring your child into school tomorrow.
We will continue to be in contact with you all during this challenging time and ensure that we remain connected as a school community as we did last year.
Best wishes,
The Windmill Team
