In term 5 within Geography, we will be carrying out our Explorers topic. We will cover the following.  

To recall significant explorations and expeditions to Antarctica (The South Pole) eg: Name  explorers who travelled to Antarctica (Robert Scott, Roald Amundsen, Anne Bancroft and Ernest Shackleton)

• To understand why some expeditions failed and others were successful.
• To be familiar with topographical maps and know about contours, etc
• To recognise some of the key symbols on an Ordnance Survey map
• Understand how to use six-figure grid references
• Know how to use six-figure grid references

In term 6, we will finish with exploring the Maya. We will be looking at the enquiry question: How did Ancient Maya express their identity?
