Beachcombing: How can we look after each other?
In term 1 we welcome the children to the beginning of their Key Stage One adventure with the topic Beachcombing.
Within this topic we will begin by looking at the text Sharing Shell. This highlights the importance of friendship at the beginning of the year. We will create shells in art practising the use of line and colour.
When looking at the location of beaches we will compare to our own locality and look at the different features. We will create our own beaches look at how a coastline is formed with sand and water.
As the term progress our key historical figure will be Mary Aning. We will look closely at her discovery and see what we can discover ourselves.
Our key concepts through this topic will be sustainability, diversity and resistance.
We look forward to all that we can discover!
