Peer to Peer learning has been identified through research as a good way of extending children’s learning. We have used this research to develop our Young Leader programme. Children who are in Year 5 and 6 can apply to be a Young Leader. They could be a Playground Leader and support younger children with playing organised games or they may be a “Curriculum Young Leader.”.  Curriculum Young Leaders are buddied with a younger child to support them with a variety of subjects including maths and reading for 10 minutes twice a week. A small group of children may be Cooking Leaders and they help with the younger children when they are doing their cooking lessons. There are also young leaders in other subjects.
